Born in Houston, Texas in 1974, Albrecht was inspired and encouraged since childhood to become an artist. At a young and impressionable age, her imagination was fueled by growing up in Space City, seeing the original Star Wars movies, and reading scifi & fantasy books bought by her mother; an addiction that started with J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia. In the early 80's, Albrecht discovered role playing games and comic books and by the end of the decade, she began to draw sketches of characters for the gaming group she was in. By the turn of the decade, Albrecht moved into classical illustration with encouragement from her friends and family. In 1995, Albrecht established her own business identity, Albrecht Illustrations, and then leaped "paintbrush first" into the fantasy illustration industry. Her first Professional show was NASFIC/Dragon-Con 1995, held in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, she has shown at such prestigious shows as World Horror Con, World Fantasy Con, GenCon, and World Science Fiction & Fantasy Con. Albrecht's works have appeared in several magazine and gaming publications for such companies as: White Wolf, DNA Publications, and Dark Muse Comics. Deriving much of her inspiration and creativity from music, mythology, ancient history and classic literature, a few of the writers and artists that have influenced Albrecht's imagination are: Homer, Sir Mallory, Dante Alighieri, the Renaissance artists, John Milton, Shakespeare, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, Edgar Allen Poe, William Blake, the Pre-Raphaelites, and Gustave Dore. Albrecht currently resides in Austin, Texas with her husband and her 4 miniature dachshunds. Memberships, Awards, and Honors:
