"Autumn
of the Asrai" This illustration captures a beautiful fairy and her dragonfly friend basking in the afternoon sunshine amid the cattails. I had always wanted to illustrate a fairy, and this was my first attempt to do so. What is unique about this piece is that it was the second attempt on my part to paint solely in watercolor. Odd fact: the background was originally watercolored as well, however it didn't look right so I ended up coloring it in with Prismacolor... and so I lost the purity of the watercolor, but the picture turned out better for it.
