"Concept
Sketch: A Centaur Bathing" This is the first design concept that I had for a centaur. When I was younger, I always loved to draw horses and this seemed a natural evolution into Fantasy. The idea I had was to draw a centaur bathing in a pool and basking in the sun, which is why light source is coming from above. Looking back on this illustration, I still love the man part, but I would redesign the horse part a little different. I think the stomach area is too long, it should be shorter and the "trunk" thicker. I also would show more of the horse... perhaps have him prancing in the water. Oh well, perhaps next time. Medium:
