"Poseidon's Pride"

It is said that the striped body of the Lionfish warns predators that it is dangerous. If attacked the predator may be impaled by one of many poisonous spines. Much like his smaller cousins, this son of Poseidon is not to be trifled with. In spite of being poisonous and extremely dangerous, many underwater adventurers try to seek out this rare merman because of his natural beauty.

In a way, this is my second attempt at creating a merman that is based on the Lionfish. Perhaps the Lionfish is one of my favorite among all the tropical ocean fish, and that is why he evolved into one.
